XTN (Ex-Tee-En): A short-form of her birth name Christine but also a play on words of one of her vietnamese names “Tiên” meaning fairy or angel.
XTN’s journey into music had its calling to take flight and be truly multifaceted. Music has indefinitely shaped her life from the moment her fingers touched the keys at the age of six. All of her fondest memories have always revolved around music and she knew she couldn’t be without it. Classically trained in piano with over 20 years of experience and having studied music theory, composition and history for over 5 years, she expanded her musical repertoire and knowledge to involve R&B, jazz, latin, modern pop and electronic music which to developing a versatile, improvisational and expressive style that has evolved her into who she is today.
During her early piano studies, she was scouted by her music school’s founder to be recruited as a piano instructor during high school and ever since then she had fallen in love with sharing the gift of music because of the bright smiles and joy it never ceases to give.
Throughout her formative years, XTN immersed herself in collaborative music creation and performance—performing in bands as a Trumpet and French horn player and serving as a dedicated piano accompanist while composing vocal scores for multiple choirs. Her deepening passion for the craft led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance, solidifying her technical foundation, conquering her stage fright and developing her creative voice.
While music lives in raw acoustics and the energy of live performance, XTN felt called to uncover the technical layers beneath the surface. XTN dove into recording, composition and sound design, becoming fascinated with the inner workings of music production. This curiosity led her to discover and fall deeply in love with electronic music. For her, it's not about sticking to one genre—it’s about emotion, energy, and resonance. She asks not what music is, but how it makes us feel.
With utmost trust in the life-changing impacts of music, she sees music as a bridge between everlasting connection, emotion, memory, and sensory experience. Her creations are guided by the belief that joy, beauty, and connection are woven through every note and brushstroke. Driven by a love for storytelling and the profound connection between joy and our sensory experiences, XTN creates across multiple mediums. Whether through song: melody, rhythm, or visual expression, she seeks to evoke feeling, connection, and beauty in every piece she brings to life.
Today, XTN shares the gift of music as both a music creator, performer and educator, inspiring others through her teaching and through ongoing artistic work. She also extends her passion through the Wave Stage as the label head and co-founder of Odyssey Music Festival 20XX.
